THE ROLE

The position is responsible for the management of staff and month-end close processes including, but not limited to, journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, audit compliance, and reporting.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the overall accounting activities of the various companies, including review of account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Manage the close process, ensuring all General Ledger reconciliation workpapers are accurate, include adequate supporting documentation, and are prepared in accordance with ATG North American finance standards
  • Ensure all accounting, reporting, and audit deadlines are met
  • Coordinate and manage mid-year audit reviews and year-end audit including the provision of requested schedules to support financial trends and balances
  • Compute and post IFRS entries including, but not limited to IFRS 15 and 16
  • Work with team to identify and create efficient processes, effectuating a smooth month-end close cycle
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate accounting policies and internal controls
  • Manage, mentor, and train staff accountants for all companies
  • Collaborate with teams and personnel throughout ATG to accomplish mutual objectives

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Solid understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, general accounting processes, internal controls, and financial analysis tools and techniques
  • Blackline experience preferred
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Detailed oriented and able to prioritize tasks, adapt to change, and meet deadlines
  • Strong team player who works well in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak audit and monthly close periods
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external customers in an articulate, professional manner, while maintaining the necessary degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to anticipate and react in a dynamic business environment
  • Ability to comprehend and execute instructions and information with accuracy
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration with an Accounting emphasis
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in accounting with a focus on General Ledger reconciliation and the month-end close process
  • Prior management experience
  • CPA preferred
