Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and direct the daily activity of all the forklift drivers and dock employees
- Coordinate all outbound and inbound loads as needed with manager oversight to ensure all hazardous waste is
- Shipped from the facility within it’s 10 day period.
- Answer receiving door and coordinate / direct transporter on dock door for unload:
- Chock trailers, verify seal numbers on trailers
- Complete paperwork (witness sign, wise number attached, etc),
- Release transporter when unloading or loading is completed.
- Relay issues to logistics team regarding any unscheduled deliveries.
- Inform logistics team when loads are ready to ship or when loads arrive.
- Assist with other dock operations and housekeeping
- Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-year related work experience.
- As you will interact with customers and internal staff, Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
Preferred qualifications
- Ability to operate equipment (fork trucks/forklifts) and technical ability to operate a hand cart/2-wheel dolly and pallet jack.
- Willingness and ability to wear company provided personal protection equipment including eye protection, foot protection, hard hat, Tyvek coveralls and respirator if needed
- Ability to observe safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly.
- Ability to present ideas in a clear, concise, organized and diplomatic manner; listen to others to respond effectively to ideas and questions.
- Ability to identify and understand employee and customer needs
- Proactively searches for ways to increase customer satisfaction.
- Ability to persist with a specific course of action.
- Ability to work with and for others in a team environment, providing direction at times.
- Ability to take and follow directions from others.
- Experience with computer software applications, including OMS and shipping software.
