GENERAL SUMMARY:
As a General Laborer, you will tend to a variety of tasks that include but are not limited to; weeding in or between fields and discarding of any foreign items, picking up rocks and discarding as instructed, perimeter weeding around fences and inside ditches, working on the planter, transplanting and other agriculture-related items.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Will perform work on the planter for direct seedling planting, and transplants as needed.
- Will weed around the perimeters, dead beds, ditches and along fence areas.
- Will remove rocks and discard from fields and perimeters.
- Abide by all Safety Regulations and Abide by all Food Safety Regulations.
- Will perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Employee must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds frequently. Employees will be required to walk stand, kneel, stoop, and bend extensively. Employee must be able to use hand tools to perform maintenance, repairs, or basic upkeep of equipment. Employees must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions, including rain, cold, heat, and high winds. Employees must be able to work in temperatures that can range from 30 degrees Fahrenheit to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the time of employment. Work is performed based on weather temperatures, employees must be able to work in the day, evening, or nights. Employees will be exposed to dusty conditions, exposed to mud, and other natural elements. This work may entail exposure to plant pollens, insects and noxious plants. At times the fields and crops will be treated with insect and/or disease control sprays, employees will be required to abide by the Worker Protection Standards and re-entry times.
MINIMUN QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 year of age
- 3 months experience working in agriculture
