Performs tasks that require mainly physical abilities and effort. Assists Journeymen in work assignments that involve little or no specialized skills, prior work experience or specialized training in a journeyman occupational trade or craft.
Responsibilities: Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Loads and unloads trucks and other conveyances. Moves supplies and materials to proper location using a wheelbarrow and/or hand truck.
- Stacks material for storage. Collects refuse and salvageable materials.
- Digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations. Level’s ground using pick, shovel, tamper, and rake. Shovel’s concrete, cleans ditches, moves, and arranges heavy office and household furniture, machinery, and equipment.
- Occasionally paints or touches up structures or equipment. Uses mechanical hand tools.
- Cleans workshop areas and worksites, including sweeping, washing & mopping.
- Performs all work-related duties as assigned.
Mandatory:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Maintain valid State issued Driver’s License.
- Capable of passing a background check for Base Access (DBIDS) and/or Common Access Card (CAC).
- Capable of passing drug test as required by the contract.
- Possess an OSHA 10 card or have the ability to get one within the first 90 days of employment.
- Must be able to comprehend, read, speak, and write proficiently in the English language.
