Job description

Job Duties:
  • Schedules and maintains complete coverage of all shifts in the Assigns priority and performs bench work in the laboratory, as needed and reviews and monitors payroll activities.
  • Ensures that testing personnel utilize the appropriate pending reports to confirm all testing on all shifts is
  • Provides orientation to all testing personnel and annually evaluating and documenting the performance in all areas of
  • Conducts performance evaluations and competencies for all departmental staff
  • Monitors test analysis and specimen examinations to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained.
  • Ensures that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is properly functioning.
  • Performs assessment of the operation of all instruments in areas of responsibility and assigns maintenance procedures or repairs as needed.
  • Ensures all documentation required by regulatory agencies, including quality control, maintenance and service records, and all documentation required for general operation of the laboratory is available.
  • Assist Lab Manager in the assessment of the efficiency of the utilization of all resources in areas of responsibility, including personnel management, equipment/reagent responsibility, equipment/reagent evaluation and method development.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies utilized by all laboratory areas and assists lab manager in placing supply orders as
  • Assists lab manager in the analysis and recording all monitors of all quality assurance systems required to maintain precision and accuracy, including proficiency testing.
  • Ensures the maintenance of a safe and clean work environment according to OSHA and CLIA regulations
  • Troubleshoots problems (client, instrument, and computer) as
  • Identifies and pursues self-improvement
  • Seeks coaching/mentoring when
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Responsibilities
  • Complies with applicable legal requirements, standards, and procedures including, but not limited to, those within the Compliance Process, Code of Conduct, and Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA).
  • Provides leadership and support for the Compliance process within management
  • Promotes adherence to applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures as specified within the Compliance Process, Code of Conduct, HIPAA and CIA within management area.
  • Distributes compliance-related materials within management
  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting and responses to compliance-related issues and monitors the implementation of corrective action plans related to such issues.
  • Ensures that staff participates in orientation and training programs including, but not limited to, all required compliance and HIPAA courses and relevant policies and procedures, and that such training is properly documented.
  • Provides open lines of communication regarding compliance issues within management area, ensures that retaliation against staff who report suspected incidences of non-compliance does not occur.
  • Participates in monitoring and auditing activities and investigations and implementing quality improvement process, as required.
  • Completes performance reviews and determines compensation and promotions based on the accomplishment of established standards that promote adherence to compliance and quality standards.
  • Participates in required orientation, Compliance and HIPAA training
  • Prepares compliance reports, as required
