About the Position
This position performs a variety of basic grounds maintenance work, to include lawn and athletic field care; construction and repair of grounds and grounds facilities; planting, transplanting, pruning, fertilizing, and spraying pesticides to control weeds, insects, and other pests; concrete mixing and installation; asphalt repair and installation; drainage system maintenance and installation; playground repair and construction; and other grounds-related work. Physical Requirements
This position requires the physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, lift 80 pounds with assistance, push/hold 150 pounds with assistance, reach above shoulder height, climb ladders, use hand tools, and work in confined spaces and at heights from aerial lift platforms. Willing to work in all types of weather conditions. Ability to operate District vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions.
Licenses/Special Requirements
Must possess and maintain the following:
-Valid Washington State Driver's License
Must possess and maintain or be willing to obtain the following within 9 months of hire:
-CPR and First Aid Certifications
-Fork Lift with Aerial and Boom Truck License
-Pesticide License with Herbicidal, Insecticidal, Aquatic, and Right of Way Endorsements
Salary:
2023-24 Salary Schedule: $35.95- $36.45 per hour
Work shift: 8 hours per day, 260 days per year (Monday - Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm)
Continuing: Employees have reasonable assurance of continued employment to the following school year. However, an employees total work hours and the designated beginning and ending times may vary.
Benefits
Our benefits package includes Washington state health insurance coverage (SEBB) and a Washington state retirement package for eligible positions. Eligibility for health insurance at the time of hire is determined by holding at least a 3.5 hour per day continuing contract position, or being hired into a non-continuing position that is anticipated to reach 630 hours during the school year.
