Job Description
Solid Ground Engineering, a growing civil engineering firm in Redmond, is seeking a mid-level CAD Technician. The primary duties of the CAD Technician are to produce drawings, layouts, maps, and graphic representations related to primarily land development. This position will require working in, but not limited to, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of experience drafting civil engineering drawings for land development.
• Experience working in the AutoCAD and Civil3D environment
• Associates degree or technical certification in a relevant field such as architecture, engineering, or experience considered sufficient to address the demands of the position
• Ability to read and interpret engineering construction drawings and incorporate redlines from engineers and project managers
• Prefer experience related to residential and commercial land development
• Experience with drafting for signing and striping, illumination, and temporary traffic control a plus
• Ability to interact, collaborate and communicate with project teams in a positive and proactive manner
• Ability to communicate thoughts and concepts with team members
• High motivation to learn
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skil• Ability to visualize geometry and grading in 3-dimensional spa• Disciplined with checking work and maintaining attention to detail

• Ability to use standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Bluebeam required
Responsibilities:
• Under the direction of a CAD manager, create preliminary and construction plan sets for residential and commercial developments. Plan sets include preliminary plat plans, horizontal control plans, grading plans, erosion control plans, drainage plans, sewer plans, water plans, details and notes, proposed and existing road profiles and sections, profile existing and proposed utilities.
• Perform research, as required, to ensure the use of the most recent standard drawings as issued by various municipalities and sewer and water districts, and WDSOT.
• Produce drawing packages for submittals.
• Work well with others and be willing to take direction and/or correction from coworkers.
• Communicate with supervisor, senior designers, and engineers regarding task execution.
Identify conflicts in design and communicate solutions with PMs.
