Salary Range: $54,743/yr.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in secondary subjects is desired but not required.
- Demonstrate the ability to be flexible when working with young adults.
- Knowledge of school district curriculum and college access requirements.
- Computer skills in the latest operating systems of Microsoft Windows and associated software.
- Experience in teaching Mathematics or English is preferred but not required.
- Good communication skills.
- Satisfactory work record & criminal/child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 114, and 151) as applicable.

The GEAR UP College & Career tutor will provide cohort students' academic support in the classroom and after school in CORE content areas under the supervision of the classroom teacher and the GEAR UP program manager. Tutoring sessions may include individual or small groups of students. Tutors are responsible for entering tutoring data into the GEAR UP database weekly and keeping accurate and complete records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides day-to-day in-class and out-of-class (after school) tutoring support.
- Maintains accurate and complete records for GEAR UP.
- Provides teachers with weekly updates regarding students' progress.
- Collaborates with Program Manager to purchase tutoring supplies.
- Responsible for entering tutoring data weekly.
- Provides monthly program updates to the school district Program Manager. This is a grant-funded position.
- Participates in all GEAR UP training and professional development.
- Travels to GEAR UP meetings in the school district.
- Participate in on-site evaluation visits.
- Participates in on-site evaluation visits
- Participates in the development of the annual action plan.
- Performs other duties as required for the effective implementation of the GEAR UP Program
