Gate Guard

Job Type: Part-time (approximately 20 - 24 hours per week)

BGS is looking to hire a part-time Gate Guard in our Toms River branch location.

We are seeking a reliable and responsible Gate Guard to join our team. As a Gate Guard, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring the security of our premises and personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and control access to the property
• Check identification of visitors and employees
• Checks paperwork before admitting anyone into the lumber yard
• Directs customers and vendors to the appropriate area of the lumber yard and notifies staff
• Inspects paperwork and content of outgoing traffic to prevent unauthorized removal of company property or products
• Follows company safety policies and procedures
• Conduct regular patrols of the property to ensure that all areas are secure
• Provide excellent customer service to all visitor, vendors and employees

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience as a Gate Guard or similar role is desired
• Knowledge and experience working with lumber and building materials is desired
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in all weather conditions
