Job Title: GI APP Opportunity in San Jose, CAPOSITION SUMMARY:
To provide clinical expertise and continuity of care for gastroenterology patients and their families on an ongoing basis. The overall goal of providing quality and optimal patient recovery while maintaining costs is achieved through a case management approach. This approach is directed by the Nurse Practitioner who collaborates with the Care Coordinators and other disciplines to organize care delivery and to facilitate the flow of the patient through the system. Provides input in the development of standardized procedures and protocols and to assist the Program Director to meet departmental goals and objectives, co manage clinical strategies, and guide institution of latest treatment options. This role will actively participate in neurovascular research, to further improve patient outcomes. This position reports directly to the GI Director. This position must also maintain a close working relationship with staff in all departments. This position will meet the requirements of the facility nursing services matrix to meet professional aspects and regulatory issues and scope of practice.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: Current CA RN License, Nurse Practitioner license. BLS, ACLS.
Preferred: NP Board certification
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: Five years acute care experience as an RN in ED, or ICU. Recent experience in GI Service Line.
Preferred: 3-5 years GI Service experience
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: BSN or equivalent Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree Nurse Practitioner
Preferred: NP GI Fellowship
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving, critical thinking ability, knowledge of Nursing Practice Act, and gastroenterology care.
Minimum: Effective front line supervision, word processing/spreadsheet, time management, clinical proficiency, Title XXII, Quality Improvement
