Essential Job Functions
- Design Gas turbine engine externals (manifolds, fuel, lube oil, and air tubing and hoses) based on the end customer's application.
- Reverse engineer existing layout and optimize it to meet design and cost criteria.
- Perform hand calculations to verify structural integrity for Proof, Burst, Fatigue, and Vibration.
- Coordinate with Structural and Design teams for structural analysis and drawings creation.
- Create design review pitch and present in design reviews.
- Develop standard work process based on the design evolution and lessons learned.
Qualifications
- B.S or M.S in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in Gas Turbine engine externals design.
- Ability to understand operation and functions of the Gas Turbine externals.
- Ability to navigate component and assembly drawings and identify parts in a bill of material (BOM).
- Ability to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong analytical, experimental, statistical aptitude.
- Ability to do operations with Microsoft office tools like Excel, PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to be a cross-functional team leader with good interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
- Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
- Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9 AM to 4 PM
