Job Description
Location: Southeastern Michigan Health Association - Detroit, MI 48202
Position Summary: Southeastern Michigan Health Association (SEMHA) is looking for an energetic, personable Youth Mentor to help coordinate the activities for the Fit Kids 360 program at Kids Heath Connection organization (non-profit). The Fit Kids 360 program focuses on childhood obesity intervention, that targets children 5-17 years old who have a Body Mass Index in the 85th percentile or above and are referred by their primary care physician.
Schedule:
- A maximum of 10 hours per week.
- Duration: 10-13 weeks (Starting late Spring)
- 1-2 evenings hours per week.
Duties:
- Prepare all site-specific forms and handouts (Pre- & Post-paperwork, sign-in sheets, handouts)
- Leading the program orientation and each week of the program
- Organize guest speakers, instructors, and field trips.
- Assist Program Manager with program planning and participant enrollment.
- Make reminder calls and follow up calls to class participants.
- Transport program supplies, and shop for supplies as necessary.
- Follow-up with Program Manager as necessary.
- Maintain positive relationships with community garden and community members.
Requirements:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) Required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with standard office equipment.
Salary: $24.00 hourly
Employment Type: 1099 Contractor Position
