- Temporary part-time Garden Support role will support all garden activities, primarily concentrated in three cultivated areas on the property. The position is currently designated to end on October 31, 2024. CDM’s garden services and programs are central to promoting and encouraging authentic connections, supportive community, and service that result in contributions to community. Because CDM is an ecosystem and in collaboration with nature, many unforeseen circumstances and newly developed needs arise every day. This role should be prepared to work with these unforeseen occurrences with the support of the CDM team; including:
· Planting seeds and growing plants, herbs, or flowers.
· Ensuring that the plants are healthy and pest-free.
· Removing weeds.
· Fertilizing, composting, and turning/clearing beds for seasonal plants.
· Advising Team Members on garden appearances and design.
· Complete other projects as assigned.
· 2 years working in garden spaces.
· Some knowledge of plant life cycle, regenerative and permaculture experience is a PLUS.
· Be agile with their hands.
· Interpersonal skills to communicate plant care information to others.
· Maintain and operate machinery/equipment (small equipment).
· Assist with irrigation systems to ensure proper watering is a PLUS.
· Work respectfully with a diverse community of individuals.
· Follow instructions and be able to work in a group.
· Attend CDM team meetings.
