Owned and operated by Master Sommelier Laura Maniec, we are a series of wine-centric restaurants focused on offering an approachable yet varied selection of wines from the classical to the esoteric. Whether you’re having a casual glass or indulging in a bottle, we have a menu built to pair seamlessly with wine.
Corkbuzz Chelsea Market is our second location, situated on the 15th Street side of the market, between Amy’s Bread and Mayhem Sandwiches. We’ve recently expanded this location to include an additional bar and cold/Garde Manger kitchen.
We’re currently open 7 days a week, 12-8pm on Sundays through Tuesdays and 12-9pm Wednesdays through Saturdays
This position is for a full-time Front-of-House Line Cook role with required work days on Sundays and Mondays, with a likely schedule of Thursday through Monday, 12-8pm. This is a great role for someone who’s interested in learning more about wine, and developing their front-of-house skills as they help serve the food that they’ve prepared. You will be in front of customers and working alongside one or two other bartenders/servers. So this is not your typical kitchen role. This is a great opportunity for the right person who’s interested in both sides of the hospitality industry.
Areas of Responsibilities:
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
- Prepare food for service
- Answer, report to, and follow executive or sous chef's instructions
- Keep station clean throughout shift and properly handle closing of your station, including any leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately, and inform sous chef or management of any shortages
- Work with a sense of purpose and urgency
- Ensure that food comes out consistently, with high quality preparation and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Assist guests with questions and concerns or direct them to a staff member who can
- Communicate effectively and frequently with management, staff, and guests
Ideal Experience:
- Proven cooking experience (1-2 years minimum)
- STRONG PREFERENCE for candidates with their NYC Food Protection Certification
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Ideally, you have some experience with steps of service in a hospitality setting
- Ability to lift and move up to 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods
- Ability to read and write in English
- An interest in beverage, food, and hospitality and the desire to learn
