Victoria Builder Supply (VBS) is a full-service customer-oriented company specializing in the sale, installation, service, and distribution of residential and commercial Garage Doors and openers. Our primary customers include residential and commercial builders, homeowners and business owners, real estate and property management companies.
Main Job Duties:
- Be at work on time to help trained installers load up trucks in morning
- Help setup job site and hardware for installation of Garage Doors
- Help unload doors at job site
- Help do any tasks assigned by trained Garage Door Installer
- Help clean up job site after installations are complete
- Learn how to best help installers on a day-to-day basis
- Long term goal is to learn how to be a fully trained Garage Door Installer
This position involves learning how to install residential Garage Doors and Garage Door openers and helping both installers and warehouse with handling materials and setting up loads and trucks for the day. Most of the work is done in either older existing garages or newly constructed garages, as well as working in our warehouse. Helpers must be able to listen and follow instructions carefully.
Helpers are responsible for learning how to fill out work orders, safety check sheets, truck checklists, and load sheets in a very accurate and neat manner. Proper completion of paperwork is a very important aspect of the installer, warehouse personnel and helper’s job. The helper needs to write clearly and legibly and pay close attention to details.
Helper’s must hold a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record. Failure to do so may result in the employee's dismissal or reclassification and probable reduction in pay.
Helpers as well as all employees of Victoria Builder Supply may be required at times to do other things that are not specifically listed in their job description. They will be expected to cheerfully do whatever work related responsibilities are given to them.
Hours:
Helpers are scheduled to work Monday through Friday starting at 7:45 a.m. and ending usually whenever they have had completed all their work and the office does not have anything else for them to do. Employees are expected to be at work all scheduled days on time.

Physical Requirements:
- Lifting and carrying 50+ lbs sometimes 50' or more, potentially several hundred times a day.
- Walking and carrying items over unlevel ground
- Ability to climb and work off of a 12' high step ladder
- Communicating over the telephone
- Filling out work orders and safety check sheets legibly
- Driving a pickup truck safely in the day and sometimes after dark
- Ability to work in extreme heat and cold
- Ability to work in a dirty, oily, and dusty environment
- Ability to use power tools such as impact wrench, circular saw, & drill
- Manual dexterity in both hands to work with hand tools'
- Ability to use tape measure and measure openings
- Ability to read a level and use to ensure proper installation of Garage Door and opener
