Job description

CatFace is a YouTube entertainment company, home to a family of channels with over 20 million combined subscribers and an average of 300 million views per month. Our goal is to entertain our audience with fun, light-hearted narratives and entertaining content for both children and young adults. A vital component of our business is creating multiple unique stories every week in order to keep our audience engaged.


Catface is seeking an experienced Gaming Director to build up and run the new Video Game Department for the company serving as the lead Producer/Designer/Director. The Gaming Director will be responsible for managing the processes and quality of Minecraft Marketplace Production, Roblox Marketplace Production, and any other game development ventures. As Gaming Director you will manage project schedules, cross-team communication, workflow-dependencies, and risks to help the team hit their development goals.


Please note this is a brand new department being built from the ground up. As things scale, so will all aspects of this position.

This is an on-site position located in Austin, TX. Some relocation assistance is provided. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with Upper Management and leadership to build and execute a strategy for co-development, as well as assess and report on progress against defined success metrics/business goals.
  • Develop project indicators that track project quality, delivery, and predictability.
  • Lead a team of employees and contractors to make games and assets for Minecraft Marketplace, Roblox Marketplace, and more.
  • Communicate frequently with all stakeholders for status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Be an active customer advocate and ensure live issues affecting end users are being resolved.
  • Help manage game related documentation with latest information and communicate changes to the team.
  • Evaluate and iterate to improve development processes.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Gaming Director/ Project Manager.
  • Experience driving video games and/or Marketplace games through the full development cycle including launch.
  • Knowledge of Minecraft Marketplace or development for Minecraft and Java Games.
  • Passion for developing teams and processes.
  • Deep understanding of game and software development processes, and project management practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude; Strong preference to applicants with development programming and skills
  • Experience in an environment where you had to exhibit amazing problem-solving skills daily, viewing each new problem as an opportunity for success
  • Commitment to staying informed with current projects, playtesting, etc
  • Self-starter, you approach challenges creatively and methodically, seeing them through to final resolution
  • Have the ability to communicate with varying levels of team members throughout the company
  • Ability to drive high velocity, high impact development cycles, balancing out short-term needs and long-term vision.
  • Knowledge of SCRUM a plus.
  • Ability to adapt and be effective in new situations within a highly dynamic environment.
