SalaryThe Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and making adjustments, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications. Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications in a timely fashion.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
- Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
- Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
- Maintain clean and safe workspace (housekeeping and sanitation) Accepts other duties assigned by the Supervisor within the scope of the position.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Minimum of 1 year of successful experience as a Machine Operator in manufacturing facility.
- Good knowledge and experience working with production procedures and processes.
- Able to read blueprints, work instructions, safety instructions and production manuals and follow. Producing consistent quality parts.
- Able to identify machine or process issues and analyze for resolution. Able to speak up and ask for help or clarification if needed.
- Strong attention to detail for quality production.
- Must be able to work with others well. Good communication and team skills. Able to present information in a positive way. Able to communicate well to others within organization.
- Manufacturing environment requires to manage heavy equipment from time to time. Able to lift 40 pounds. Able to stand on feet for long periods of time. Follow all safety protocols.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and able to multi-task.
- Able to use Calipers to measure accurately. Knowledge of plastics, plastic extrusion is preferred. Must have mechanical abilities and perform basic math to perform essential functions of the job.
