Furniture Sales Associate @ Old Charleston Trading Company

Old Charleston Trading Company is looking for a reliable retail Sales Associate with the ability to make our customers feel valued. In addition, the position requires, receiving deliveries/unload trucks, regularly unpack and assemble furniture, move or load merchandise, and tag inventory.Sales Associate duties and responsibilities include working closely with customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about our products and recommend the right solutions. The position requires physical ability to lift and move items up to 100 lbs, ability to stand, twist, squat, and bend for long periods of time. Interior design experience a plus.

Ultimately, the duties of a Sales Associate are to achieve excellent customer service, while consistently meeting the store’s sales goals.

Wednesday 9am-5pm
Thursday 9am-5pm
Friday 9am-5pm
Saturday 9am-6pm
Sunday 11am-5pm

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
• Educate customer on the differences in our products and offer appropriate suggestions and opinions.
• Company provides shirts and jackets, employee to have neat and clean business appropriate attire.
• Continually maintain and replenish stock on floor.
• Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options.
• Process POS (point of sale) purchases.
• Team up with co-workers to ensure best possible customer service.
• Build productive sincere trust relationships with customers.
• Comply with inventory control procedures.
• Keep showroom neat and clean.
• Assist in loading furniture into customer's vehicles.
• Maintain storage areas cleanliness and organization.
• Receive/unload furniture deliveries.
• Drug test and background check (NO FELONIES) on final candidate.
• No smoking, drug and alcohol free during working hours.

Skills

• Punctual and reliable!
• Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
• Excellent communication skills, proficiency in English
• Basic Math skills
• Hands-on experience with POS transactions
• Familiarity with inventory procedures
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
• Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
• Work efficiently and independently, ability to carry out daily duties with limited supervision.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 39 per week
