Position Description:Funeral Service Associate/Removal Team
Purpose: The position of Funeral Service Associate exists in this organization to assist the funeral directors with providing the highest quality, professional, and efficient removals, embalming, visitations, and funerals to the client families served by the Linnemann Funeral Homes
Reports to: Director of Funeral Service Operations.
Major Duties:
1. Assist licensed funeral directors and other staff with removals (ON CALL every other night and every other weekend), embalming, preparing for visitations/funerals, working visitations/funerals and escorting funerals.
2. Be knowledgeable of all programs, services and amenities offered by the funeral home
3. Use appropriate communication skills with family members, visitors, and clergy.
4. Greet visitors and family; introduces them to the appropriate staff during visitations.
5. Remain visible and available at all times during services and visitations
6. Greet visitors, determine the purpose of their visit, respond accordingly by directing escorting them to the appropriate room as time and circumstances allow.
7. Check with client family members during visitation to ensure all are satisfied
8. Maintain the register book, prayer cards, and memorial supplies.
9. Participate in the direction and/or delivery of ceremonies and services as needed
10. Stand attentively at vehicle or gravesite and maintain a respectful attitude. Provide directions to visitors; both inside and outside of the funeral home
11. Monitor parking lot activities during services; assist with funeral processions.
12. Maintain complete confidentiality, perpetually, concerning any information, circumstances, or facts regarding the deceased or client family.
13. Complies with all applicable federal, state and local regulations
14. Complies with all Company policies, procedures, and safety measures.
15. Presents (attire) and conducts himself/herself in a professional and respectable manner.
Other Duties
1. Assists with grass cutting and snow removal
2. Assist in cleaning funeral home, running errands, and washing cars
3. Completes all training sessions required by the management of LFH.
4. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Funeral Service Operations or the Owners.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School plus Human Relations training
Experience: Some experience dealing with people in a professional, empathetic, and compassionate manner
Licensure: None
Physical: Lift and Carry > 75lbs
Pay: $13-15/hr + $40 per removal after normal business hours
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $8.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
