Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Funeral Director to join our team on a full-time basis. As a Funeral Director, you will be responsible for guiding families through the funeral planning process, coordinating funeral services, and ensuring that all arrangements are conducted with the utmost care, respect, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
· Client Consultation: Meet with grieving families to discuss funeral arrangements, understand their preferences, and provide guidance on available options.
· Documentation: Prepare and complete all necessary paperwork, including death certificates, permits, and other legal documents required for burial or cremation.
· Coordination of Services: Coordinate and oversee funeral and memorial services, ensuring that all logistics are executed seamlessly, including transportation, flower arrangements, and catering.
· Communication: Communicate effectively with families, clergy, and other service providers to ensure smooth collaboration and execution of services.
· Funeral Home Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the funeral home facilities, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment for grieving families and visitors.
· Compliance: Stay abreast of local, state, and federal regulations related to funeral services and ensure compliance at all times.
Qualifications:
· Funeral Director License: Hold a valid and current Maryland Funeral Director license in accordance with state regulations.
· Experience: At least 5-10 years of experience is mandatory.
· Compassion: Demonstrate a high level of empathy, sensitivity, and understanding when working with grieving families.
· Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
· Team Player: Collaborative and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Applicants must have at least 5-10 years of experience and be licensed with the Maryland State Board of Morticians and Funeral Directors to work in Maryland.
