This role has an opportunity to make a significant impact on our customer's families and loved ones by assisting the funeral team with some functions related to the coordination of legal and administrative matters associated with funeral service.
Under the supervision of a licensed Funeral Director, you will be able to learn the industry and work toward a career path in death care.
Job Summary:
- Performs a variety of tasks before and during funerals to assist funeral directors and to ensure that services run smoothly by being present and working as an attendant during services
- General Accountabilities Greets people at the funeral home.
- Transports the deceased to the funeral home.
- Directs mourners to parlors or chapels in which wakes or funerals are being held.
- Closes caskets at appropriate point in services.
- Attends to the needs of the bereaved by offering comfort or counseling.
- Places caskets in parlors or chapels prior to wakes or funerals.
- Carries flowers to hearses or limousines for transportation to places of interment. Arranges floral offerings around caskets.
- Performs administrative tasks, such as typing documents or answering phone calls.
- Meets with family members to plan the funeral.

Job Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
A few months to one year of related experience
