(This is a 9-month position working approximately from the first part of August through mid-May each year, laid off during the summer and automatically called back for the next year)
Available to work at all Center site locations.
Support internally and externally, verbally and in action the missions of Riverbend Head Start & Family Services.
Demonstrate commitment to the total agency and its strategic direction through collaboration with other program directors and departments to further organizational goals.
Program Aide:
Welcome parents/visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone and respond to requests.
Notify staff of visitor’s arrival.
Maintain security by following established procedures.
Monitor logbook for location of all staff.
Direct parents/visitors to meeting room locations.
Maintain parent confidence by keeping all information confidential.
Provide clerical support to all site personnel to include typing, copying and faxing any necessary documentation.
Answer phones, monitor voicemail, take detailed messages and forward to appropriate staff.
Attend meetings as needed.
Maintain inventory of supplies and place orders for supplies.
Familiar with operation of all office equipment and provide assistance to site staff when necessary. Call appropriate vendors for repair of equipment.
Ensure communication between central office and site by picking up and dropping off mail as needed. May also be required to take mail to post office daily.
Assist children who have minor injuries such as nosebleeds and scrapes. Notify parents when children are ill or an accident has occurred.
Assist in contacting the bus company with any bus issues
Help maintain general appearance of site by keeping work area clean.
Food Service Worker:
Check in food received from food service vendor by taking temperatures of food and preparing for delivery to classrooms. Delivers A.M and P.M. meals and snacks to part-day classrooms, breakfast, lunch and snack to full-day rooms.
Records food temperatures on food quality forms.
Orders paper products and utensils as needed.
Orders food for field trips.
Stores food according to established guidelines.
Empties, rinses and stacks all foodservice pans after each meal or snack.
Puts away dishes and thoroughly cleans sink(s) at the end of each day.
Cleans inside and outside of microwave(s) and toaster oven(s), washes, rinses and sanitizes serving dishes and utensils daily.
Cleans refrigerator(s) weekly.
Cleans outside of food warmer daily and the inside of the unit weekly.
Wipes down and sanitizes all surfaces after meal and snack preparation.
Assists classroom staff in planning and securing food items for cooking activities.
Maintains communication with the food service vendor in the event of food shortage/spoilage, etc.
Documents all menu changes onto menu posted in each classroom and in the kitchen.
Distributes monthly menu.
Monitors food allergies of enrolled children and ensures that meals/snacks served are prepared safely in accordance to the child’s allergy specifications.
Other duties as assigned.
