Full Time, Short Term Infant Nanny - Westminster/Broomfield

Location: Westminster/Broomfield, Colorado, 80021

Start date: March 1, 2024 to August 1, 2024 (Short Term, Full Time)

Children: 1 - infant daughter who will be 4 months of age at start of the position.

Compensation: $25.00 to $32.00 per hour - offering professional payroll

Schedule: M-F or M-Th, between the hours of 7:30/8am to 4-5pm, with guaranteed hours for 30 hours per week. Family can offer Fridays off, and can be flexible on start and end time based on the nanny's preference. Hours per week: 30 to 35.

Dad will travel a bit during the month for work. Family will likely offer added hours/request additional help with the nanny if grandparents aren't available to help. Can provide our nanny with advance notice if additional help & adjustment to the weekly schedule is needed.

Summary: New family of 3 seeking an Infant Nanny during the gap between end of maternity leave and start of daycare. This gap is March 1st until daughter's daycare start date of August 1st. Mom works for the Colorado Department of Labor and mostly will work from home in a separate space. She is breastfeeding. Dad works in real estate, works from home sometimes and also goes into an office.

Family has a "mi casa es su casa" approach with caregivers and doula, for example, the nanny will be welcome to what family has in the fridge. They like for people to feel comfortable in their home and hope to have a friendly, professional working relationship with their nanny.

Pets. One friendly medium/large-ish dog who is about 80 pounds. Parents have introduced her to their daughter and she enjoys being around. Looking for a nanny who feels comfortable with a dog around the house during the day.

Job Duties:

• experienced Infant Nanny (first-time parents seeking an experienced provider)
• please be current on TDAP booster to work with infants
• age-appropriate motor skills and language activities
• tracking meals/bottles (ounces consumed), diapers, nap times, etc.
• stroller walks and outdoor play as weather permits
• preparing bottles/bringing baby to mom for breastfeeding
• cleaning infant bottles & dishes as she gets older
• tracking milestones and communicating regularly with parents
• a nanny who can prepare fresh purees would be great - not necessary but welcomed
• child's laundry 1-2 times per week (or as needed more often if she is spitting up often, etc.)

Meals: mom is currently breastfeeding and meals will evolve as little girl starts solids. Right now, mealtime includes recognizing hunger cues and bringing the baby to mom on the schedule or more often, if hunger cues indicate that it is time.

Communication style: family has worked with a doula agency and has had a good chance to learn about communicating with a childcare professional in the home. They do well when there is daily communication/check-in about the day in the morning, and written notes (or app) about the daily activities so that parents can review it later when they have time. Parents like to know the details and feel like they are involved in their daughter's day even when they are working.

Little to no driving needed: the area family lives in is within stroller-friendly for walks and within walking distance of a park. In general, parents don't anticipate asking the nanny to drive their daughter. Being first-time parents and this is a short-term 5 month position, they will probably feel most comfortable with her being cared for around the local neighborhood. A nanny who enjoys creating a daily schedule of motor skills activities, language activities, nap & meal routine will probably be very happy with this friendly family.
