Full Time Pharmacy Technician

The Cancer Center Oncology Medical Group is hiring for a full-time licensed Pharmacy Technician. We are an outpatient Cancer Center located in La Mesa CA. Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager and the Physicians, candidates must be able to work in a very fast pace environment. Applicants must have at least 1 year experience. The hours are Monday thru Friday 8:30am-5:00pm.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures in all areas of practice
• Under the direct supervision of the Physicians and Pharmacy Supervisor, performs functions pertaining to the dispensing of chemotherapy, bio therapy, hazardous and other medications
• Provides coverage in areas of need in the pharmacy operation
• Consistently demonstrates safe handling and disposal of chemotherapy agents, as outlined by OSHA, USP and USP standards
• Appropriately pulls pre-medications from dispensing cabinet, and chemotherapy/biotherapy as orders are presented
• Prepares labels, bags, and dispenses the products
• Dates and properly stores partial multi-dose vials, Draws up and dates injectables
• Receives/checks-in all orders
• Appropriately operates and maintains specialized pharmacy equipment. Charts all scheduled maintenance designed to ensure sterility according to protocol. Performs daily, weekly, monthly and terminal cleaning of IV admixture spaces
• Must maintain general pharmacy knowledge, knowledge of medications, medication dosage forms, and trade and generic names
• Thorough knowledge in preparation of sterile parenteral products using proper aseptic technique, knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, proper product labeling, and product reconstitution procedures. Thorough understanding of medication order procedures involving the pharmacy computer system
• Other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
