Earn $135-$165 per day plus a premium pay incentive.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a current Kansas Certified Teacher License or Standard Substitute License Or Emergency Substitute License.
Applicants must meet the Kansas State Department of Education certification requirements.
Proper English usage, grammar, vocabulary, spelling and punctuation, and basic math; methodologies, techniques, and practices used to address the educational and emotional needs of regular program and special education students.
Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to implement lesson plans left by the classroom teacher, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner that motivates students to learn and participate.
Ability to create and maintain a climate of respect and fairness for all students; ability to demonstrate fair and ethical judgment.
Maintains a discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with school and district policies.
Ability to apply appropriate consequences for inappropriate student behavior; ability to display problem-solving, cooperative negotiating skills, and conflict resolution strategies.
Maintains and respects the confidentiality of students, school personnel, and parent information.
Ensures adequate supervision to assure the health, welfare, and safety of all students.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, material, and facilities.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the building administrator(s) in accordance with school/district policies and/or practices.
You will report to your assigned building 5 days a week, to be assigned by the administrator to whatever unfilled absence is the greatest need each day. This is a 9- month position with NO benefits. USD 501 applications required.
Topeka Public Schools is currently offering an $8,000.00 incentive pay based on attendance for each quarter of the school year, paid quarterly.
