Job Summary
Pittsburgh, PA | Wexford
- Start Date: ASAP
- Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm; Guaranteed 40 hours/week
- Hourly Rate: $26-$30, but negotiable for the right fit
- Children: 4 year old, 2 year old, and baby due in September
- Paid Vacation: One week nanny’s choice, one week family’s choice, 7 paid holidays
Responsibilities and Duties
- WHO/WHAT: These professionals seek a nanny they’ll adore like family. And because of that, they won’t settle for anything less than the best for their family, and they’re willing to compensate accordingly. This busy role will be centered around two boys—aged four and two—plus a baby who’s coming in September. There’s some flexibility with the start and end times, but you’ll typically work Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm. Mom and Dad both have demanding full-time jobs, so the expectation is for the nanny to fully “take the wheel” with the children during the parents’ core business hours to allow them to focus on work with minimal disruption. Dad typically works hybrid 3 days a week downtown and 2 days remote in his home office. Mom primarily works from home in her home office. Mom’s and Dad’s home offices are both in the basement to allow the children full reign of the main floor of the home during the work day. You might see them for lunch or occasionally for a quick stop upstairs to say hi, but otherwise, you’ll hardly know they’re around. Also, their 4 year old goes to preschool 3 days a week, which the parents drive to and from school. Your day will revolve around helping the parents with overall child development while ensuring the wellbeing and safety of the children. That includes a ton of interactive learning of various subjects from a weekly lesson plan developed by the nanny with input from the parents. Of course, mixed in with a healthy dose of silliness, fun, and play, you’ll include adventures to the nearby park, drawing, crafts, and dancing. When the baby comes, the newborn care specialist in you will take center stage. Also, your help with chores will be deeply appreciated. This includes the children’s laundry, washing bottles, dishes, vacuuming, breakfast and lunch, meal prep, keeping general cleanliness of the areas of the house being used during the day, and bathing the children. There are no pets, one of the boys has seasonal allergies that occasionally require mild care, and you don’t need to drive anywhere. We can tell this family will be excellent employers but as noted, the bar is “Mary Poppins” level or bust. So if you’d be a fit for this great opportunity, then APPLY today!
