JOB SUMMARY:
The Family Support Program is designed to maintain the parent-child relationship and other family attachments and reduce the sense of abandonment children experience when placed outside of the home. The Family Support Specialist focuses on enhancing and supporting parenting skills and to identify and resolve problems before and after children return home.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FAMILY SUPPORT SPECIALIST:
- Evaluate youth and families for treatment needs and refer to appropriate resources.
- Analyze client situations and capabilities to determine services needed to address safety concerns.
- Implement, evaluate and review safety assessments and plans.
- Provide parent coaching during child/family interaction visitation.
- Intervene when necessary to prevent inappropriate behavior or to promote productive interactions.
- Provide designated parent curriculum in individual or group settings.
- Act as an on-call resource to evaluate and determine necessary responses in de-escalating crisis situations with youth and families.
LOCATION: Office is based in Janesville, WI. Local travel required to meet with clients in Rock County. Position offers some flexibility to work remote when not meeting with clients. Must be able to meet in-person with clients in Rock County, Wisconsin.
SCHEDULE: Hours of work are typically Monday-Friday between 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings or weekends to accommodate the needs of clients.

SALARY: $19.00 per hour
Requirements
- Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related is required.
