Our location at the Surf Ranch is located in Lemoore, CA, and for a reason and we're looking for someone experienced in this arena focused on people and the planet to carry the torch.

Outerknown is seeking an Associate Manager to join our team and help us expand into brick & mortar retail. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading the team, opening, and closing the store, providing unrivaled customer service, and styling, maximizing sales opportunities, and maintaining a welcoming environment for clients. Your primary focus will be on achieving store business objectives, managing human resources, and driving associate development. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with operations and loss prevention regulations and maintain visual merchandising standards. You are a leader who possesses excellent relationship-building skills with both external and internal partners., you will represent the brand values and promote its ambitions within the marketplace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales and Team Leadership:

  • Set a clear vision and goals: Work with the Store Manager to establish a clear vision and set achievable goals for your team including Assistant Managers and support team.
  • Lead by example: Your team will look up to you as their leader, so it's important that you lead by example.
  • Communicate effectively: Communication is key to successful sales leadership. You should be able to communicate your vision and goals clearly and concisely to your team, and be able to listen to their feedback and concerns.
  • Empower your team: Give your team the tools, resources, and support they need to succeed. Empower them to take ownership of their work and give them the freedom to make decisions.
  • Recognize and reward success: Celebrate your team's successes and acknowledge their hard work. This will motivate them to continue performing at their best and foster a positive team culture.
  • Drive and maximize sales performance: Work with the Store Leader to identify opportunities for sales growth and develop initiatives in line with our brand values
  • Embraces the opportunity to attend and/or initiate events outside the four walls of our stores to showcase the brand and either operate a short-lived pop-up shop or host an event like a beach cleanup
  • Provide feedback to associates to assist in their growth and development within the company.

Inventory and Operational Excellence:

  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels by overseeing all aspects of inventory control, such as regular cycle counting, monitoring stock movements and executing inventory audits.
  • Leading and mentoring team members: You will lead and motivate the team of ensuring that they are well trained and equipped to carry out their tasks effectively
  • Ensuring safety and compliance: You will maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and procedures
  • Analyzing data and making strategic decisions: You will use data analysis tools to identify trends, patterns and customer demand to make informed business decisions that improve inventory management and operations efficiency.

Business and Product Knowledge:

  • Train and communicate current collection knowledge: This will allow you to build trust, enhance customer experience, and increase sales. Your team needs to be fully educated on product knowledge, seasonal strategy all with a focus on sustainability.
  • Assist the Store Manager in creating a qualitative end-of-month report, including sales figures, product performance and team performance.

Networking and Community:

  • Encourage the team to attend local networking events and build relationships with potential clients. This will help to establish a positive reputation for your company and increase word-of-mouth referrals.
  • Implement a customer service training program for the team that focuses on creating a personalized and memorable experience for customers with a focus on sustainability and our core values.
  • Implement events that are brand aligned that focus on the client/community
  • Assist in leading your team to consistently establish client relationships, execute unrivaled customer service, and grow your business through effective client outreach.

:
  • Outgoing personality that can interact openly with others
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve individual selling goals and metrics
  • Customer Service experience required
  • Demonstrated sales accountability
  • Strong personal leadership skills and desire to succeed
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment with peers and supervisors
  • Skilled at delivering thoughtful and appropriate positive and developmental feedback.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of (5) five years of specialty, luxury goods, or a comparable retail environment Prior sales management experience
  • Strong styling capabilities with an eye for current fashion and trends
  • Exemplary communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent time management skills and a sense of urgency
  • Ability to recognize and react to changing work demands
  • Goal-oriented: the ability to stay focused on creating winning results

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:
  • Ability to work a flex schedule (which includes nights, weekends, and holiday availability)
  • Ability to lift at least 20 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods at a time
  • Ability to travel (auto/airplane/train), visit stores, and attend HQ meetings

This position will be based in our store at the Surf Ranch in Lemoore, CA.
