Overview:
We are seeking an independent, self-motivated Administrative Clerk to assist with daily operations in the City Clerk's office of the City of Van Meter. The Administrative Clerk will be tasked with duties involving customer service, communication, monthly reports, accounts receivable & accounts payable and utility billing.
Responsibilities:
- Verbal & written communication with citizens, staff and elected officials regarding utility billing, complaints, street light issues, permits (building, sound, food truck, etc)
- Assistance with monthly newsletter preparation
- Assistance with monthly utility billing including requests to start and end service
- Serve as back up to the City Clerk on a variety of functions
- Assistance in posting agendas & notices for all departments including voluntary boards
Requirements:
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License
- Certification in the Clerk Associate program through IMFOA within an allowable time frame
- Must have good organizational skills, communication skills and time management skills

Pay: $38,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year
