Senior Full-Stack Java Developer

Location: Remote (Work-from-home, within the contiguous USA)

Summary: This Senior Position requires a seasoned developer who can contribute to complex projects, mentor others, and drive technical excellence. This position works closely with all areas of the business to gather product requirements and design, implement and test components of their system. This role will guide and mentor mid and junior-level software developers.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and Implementation:

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and efficient applications using Java and related web technologies.
• Work independently, taking ownership of end-to-end application development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

2. Documentation and Support:

• Create and maintain comprehensive product documentation, including architecture diagrams, API specifications, and user guides.
• Provide ongoing support for deployed applications, addressing issues and ensuring smooth operation.

3. Technical Analysis and Solution Proposals:

• Analyze project requirements and propose high-level technical designs.
• Evaluate technical solutions at all stages of development, ensuring they align with best practices and industry standards.
• Ensure solutions are interoperable, maintainable, and performant.

4. Coding Standards and Code Reviews:

• Adhere to team and department coding standards, promoting code quality and consistency.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code meets quality criteria.

5. Technology Research and Trends:

• Stay informed about emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools.
• Research and evaluate technologies for use in new and existing solution modules (e.g., Machine Learning frameworks, data storage, and capture frameworks).

6. Technical Leadership and Mentorship:

• Provide technical guidance to other team members.
• Break down work for junior developers and act as the go-to person for project-related issues and status updates.
• Lead by example, demonstrating best practices and promoting a culture of excellence.

7. Time Tracking and Accountability:

• Ensure accurate reporting of working hours on a daily or weekly basis.
• Maintain transparency and accountability within the team.

Requirements:

1. Experience:

• Minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience.
• Proven expertise in Java, Spring, REST APIs, SQL, and Git.

2. Full-Stack Development:

• Proficiency in both front-end (UI/UX) and back-end (server-side) development.
• Experience with middleware products, unit testing practices, and transaction processing.

3. Documentation and Code Quality:

• Strong ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Focus on maintaining repositories with an emphasis on code health and quality.

4. End-to-End Feature Development:

• Demonstrated experience in delivering complete features from conception to deployment.

5. Healthcare Domain Knowledge (Optional):

• Knowledge or experience in healthcare, HL7, or FHIR standards is an asset but not required.

Please note: Interview cycle may involve 2 or 3 rounds and require demonstration of stated knowledge and skills, via a coding exercise provided after initial interview.

Salary: $100K to TBD, commensurate with credentials and demonstrated experience and skills
