GDIT is seeking a Full Stack Developer with knowledge of Oracle database administration to join our team supporting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Land and Emergency Management (OLEM) Office of Superfund Remediation and Technology Innovation (OSRTI) Analytical Services Branch (ASB). As the Database Administrator you will perform systems database administration support services for the Contract Laboratory Program Support System (CLPSS). This support will be for all environments including but not limited to Development, Maintenance, Test (2 environments), Staging, and Production, which are hosted in an AWS Cloud Environment. Additionally, you will work with the development team to contribute to system development as needed.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Recommend and implement database security policies
• Recommend and implement database backup, recovery, redundancy strategies and support disaster recovery related operations as needed
• Write, review, and update system documentation relating to the databases
• Review and monitor database performance
• Taking appropriate action to initiate changes, installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining database instances
• Collaborate with system administrators, developers, and data analysts to support ongoing system maintenance and development.
• Support potential database architecture changes for new interface development
• Assist program staff with writing SQL queries for job aids and ad hoc client reporting
• Modify data that program staff does not have write access to
• Develop application code and unit test in the Angular, Rest Web Services, Java, or similar technologies
• Coding using JavaScript, CSS, and HTML
• Conduct performance testing
• Advise client and other stakeholders regarding design and technical decisions for project
• Perform product analysis and development tasks of increasingly complex nature, which may require extensive research and analysis
• Communicate effectively with team members, management, and customers to design, plan, and develop large scale projects from the ground up

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant discipline from an accredited institution with 4 years relevant experience. Without a degree 6 years of relevant experience is required.

Required Skills:

• Experience managing databases in an AWS cloud environment, familiarity with the AWS console, and implementing Oracle in EC2 instances AWS (not using AWS RDS)
• Knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery scenarios, a good understanding of Oracle security management, and Oracle data integrity
• Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle
• Working knowledge of Linux and Apache Tomcat
• Experience writing PL/SQL, use of packages and body using ETL
• Provide formatted reports (HTML) based on SQL queries to email distribution lists
• Proven experience implementing front-end and back-end JavaScript applications
• Proficient in Angular, Rest Web Services, Java, Javascript, CSS, HTML, and writing cross-browser compatible code
• Availability to work during Eastern time "core hours" (8am-5pm).
• Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills, to provide regular status updates to project managers
• Ability to work independently and consistently adhere to project/deliverable deadlines

Preferred Skills

• Experience with reporting from Oracle using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Qlik Sense, and local tools such as Crystal Reports
• Experience using RMAN
• BAT Windows CMD (or Powershell) scripting
• Scheduling OS jobs and Oracle jobs
• Previous experience with EPA's AWS Cloud Environment
• Experience developing using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and AWS tools such as Fargate, Simple Storage Service (S3), Aurora, and Elastic container registry (ECR).
