Essential functions (job duties):Wayne State University Law School is pleased to announce that it is seeking candidates for the Alan S. Schenk Chair in Taxation.
The Alan S. Schenk Chair in Taxation was endowed by former students in honor of Professor Alan Schenk, a renowned tax scholar who has taught at the Law School for over 50 years. Candidates with expertise in tax, business planning, and corporate finance are encouraged to apply. This is a full-time, tenured position to start in Fall 2024. The holder of the Chair will be expected to teach courses in the noted specialties at the J.D. and graduate level, to publish in scholarly journals, and to speak at academic conferences and events.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a J.D. degree or equivalent, outstanding academic credentials, a demonstrated commitment to teaching and scholarship, and substantial expertise in tax law. They should have a record that qualifies them for an appointment at the level of Full Professor. They should have the ability to contribute to the professional and intellectual life both of the Law School and of the legal practice community.
