Description

We are targeting to hire for this position in the range of $26.10 - $29.00 per hour. 

Position Summary/objective of job: 

The Fulfillment Planner works closely with various departments, including Shop Operations, Supply Chain and Logistics, and Warehouse, to plan and prioritize distribution of all finished products. This role analyzes multiple sets of data to generate warehouse and shop fulfillment transfers, monitors delivery schedules, and determines optimal frequency of shop deliveries to ensure timely and efficient fulfillment, enhancing overall guest experience and satisfaction.  

 

Essential Functions:  

  • Create and maintain fulfillment plans for omni-channel demand forecasts for all products produced or procured for sale by Salt & Straw

  • Understand and devise a classic vs. seasonal fulfillment plan. 

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels at shops, regional warehouses, and the central warehouse against safety stocks; plan and coordinate transfers, as necessary. 

  • Monitors and plans delivery schedules to ensure in-stocks at shops hit targets. 

  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and address any issues that may arise during transit. 

  • Generate reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track fulfillment performance. 

  • Collaborate and communicate with Production Managers and Director of Quality to understand capacities, constraints, batch sizes, and other planning considerations. 

  • Research inventory discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy, including root-cause analysis for inventory errors. 

  • Ensures cycle count process is completed 100% for measured window of time. 

  • Monitors finished goods, supply and merchandise movement to ensure First-In, First-Out (FIFO) picking is completed (FEFO – First-Expiring, First-Out where applicable), escalating issues as necessary. 

  • Communicates with 3PL warehouse vendors for new SKU/item setup, where applicable. 

  • Works proactively with management to mitigate waste/spoilage on packaging, ingredients, and finished goods. 

  • Assists Quality Assurance and Safety departments to help ensure compliance throughout the finished goods supply chain: monitoring and documenting any non-compliance events or instances, organizing and performing complete lot traceability for audits or recalls, escalation of occupational safety, hazardous events, or conditions, etc.

Qualifications

Qualifications: To perform the job successfully, an individual should have the following qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of experience in a fulfillment planning or logistics role. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration, or a related area preferred. 

  • ERP and planning/forecasting solution experience. 

  • Experience working with 3PL and external logistics service providers is preferred. 

  • APICS or similar certification preferred. 

 

Knowledge and Critical Skills: 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with individuals at various levels of the organization.  

  • Self-directed with organizational skills and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize, work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines. 

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills. 

  • Excellent quality orientation and attention to detail. 

  • Proven ability to be flexible and supportive when faced with ever-changing priorities.  

  • Math skills: Ability to work with percentages and fractions. Ability to convert units of measure. 

  • Proficiency in MS Office.  

  • Fluency in English.

  • Occasionally strong scents & odors, depending on ingredients and cleaning.
