The Opportunity
JetZero is in growth mode. As our Fuel System Design Engineer, you will own the layout, integration, and installation of the Fuel System ranging from installation requirements management, design standards, development, certification, and entry into service. You will coordinate between the various departments – Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Flight Controls, Software, Lab and Flight Test, Procurement, Manufacturing, Operations - as necessary to ensure the technical success of the Fuels System. You will ensure your systems comply with all federal airworthiness regulations.
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Design and develop JetZero’s Fuel System using Model Based Definition (MBD) principles and tools
- Establish and maintain the digital environment ensuring the accuracy and consistency of product data throughout the product lifecycle using Siemens NX and Teamcenter PDM
- Design Fuel System tubing and supports for performance and producibility as you generate, review, and/or approve:
- Design engineering processes, standards, and manuals/guides
- Engineering drawings, schematics, and design specifications
- hardware specifications (LRUs, flanges, clamps, etc.)
- 3-D models, component drawings, assembly drawings, and interface control documents with application of GD&T per ASME Y14.5
- Equipment test plans and reports
- Compliance and program documentation
- Conduct multi-disciplinary design reviews and coordination internally with other systems/structure owners, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality throughout the phases of development, certification, and production readiness
- Various project management tasks as required
- Experience with in-house design and manufactured parts
- Detailed understanding of civil aviation standards and practices
- Understanding of basic Thermo/Fluid Dynamics
- Understanding of material selection and basic stress principles
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication

Salary Range: $100,000-$150,000
