DEFINITION:
Serves as the Office Supervisor overseeing the management of all administrative activities involved in a multi-physician General Surgery and Gastroenterology practice that is part of a large multi-specialty medical group. The incumbent works independently with responsibility and authority for all duties regarding the planning, coordinating and directing of all administrative processes. The incumbent works under the guidance of the Clinic Manager and the Medical Director of the practice in a team concept to develop policies and the direction needed to ensure the successful delivery of medical services for the General Surgery and Gastroenterology clinic. Is responsible for all administrative management functions to include contributing to the budget, space utilization, logistics, equipment, supplies, and supervision of clinic administrative support staff. Additionally, the Front Office Supervisor must continually analyze the operating environment through data analysis, observation and other sources to assess the efficiency of the clinic. Recommends and executes plans to improve quality of care, cost reduction, access to care, healthcare delivery, and service line growth.
Plans, organizes, and directs all day-to-day practice operations for the General Surgery and Gastroenterology clinic to include patient scheduling practices, front desk operations, phone scheduling, preauthorization and insurance verification and copayment/coinsurance collections. Liaisons with hospital leadership to ensure effectiveness of services (HR, Purchasing, Facilities, etc.) and for clinics' revenue cycle functions. This position performs financial management analyses, and implements strategies in the areas of staffing, schedule management, revenue, and patient care workflow to achieve maximum efficiency and return on asset investment. Physician/clinic treats adults and geriatrics.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Five (5) years supervisors' experience. 2 years accounts receivable experience.
Hospital background is an asset.
Must be literate in use of computers such as accounting, word processing, etc.
High School graduation with two years of college with emphasis on business courses preferred.
