Front Office Registrar Behavioral Health Department, Bridgeport

Optimus Health Care is a Federally Qualified Health Center with sites operating in Bridgeport, Stamford and Stratford, CT. We are the largest provider of primary health care services in Fairfield County, proudly serving all patients regardless of their ability to pay.

We are presently recruiting two FRONT OFFICE REGISTRARS for our Behavioral Health Department in Bridgeport. This is a full-time, 40-hour work week with one late night a week.

Member of a health care team responsible for working with providers, and staff, to ensure a complete and timely patient flow process. Assure that pre-work is performed before the patient arrives by verifying demographic and insurance information to ensure prompt payment of services to Optimus. Handles medical records requests in a timely manner and in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Scans documents relating to patient treatment into the EMR.

Customer Service:Responsible for greeting all customers always entering Optimus Health Care in a courteous professional and respectful manner.

Registration: Responsible for completing patient demographic, insurance financial information and ensure that patients are processed in a timely, accurate and complete manner

Insurance Verification: Responsible and accountable for verification of insurances to ensure billing of services.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: High School diploma / Associates degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE: At least five years’ experience, preferably in the health care setting. Familiarity with tele-medicine and prior experience a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Bi-lingual English/Spanish is helpful

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to use calculator

REASONING ABILITY: Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
