Job description

Acme Glass is looking for a skilled Customer Service Representative for our newly remodeled downtown Burlington location. Our fast-paced glass shop focuses on residential windows & doors, shower glass, aluminum storefronts, screen projects, service work (in shop and on the road), insulated glass replacements, and much more. We have a customer-centric approach and are willing to go the extra mile to foster great relationships with new and existing customers.

Our driven, hard-working and self-sufficient team need an equally goal-oriented colleague who will support them with their day-to-day Customer Service, sales, administrative and operations functions.

We are a steadily growing, locally owned and operated business and due to the increased demands, we have a need professional looking to start a career with growth potential.

Your typical day may consist of any of these responsibilities:

  • Welcoming and assisting all walk-in customers into the shop
  • First point of contact for inbound calls and general inquiry emails; respond to customer questions, when possible, relay messages, and direct calls/emails to the team.
  • Support customers with basic sales orders (i.e. screen repairs, glass replacement, window/door repairs, etc).
  • Call customers once shop orders are complete to notify them the product is ready for pickup.
  • Collect payment from customers picking up product.
  • Call customers with pass due invoices to make sure the work was completed to the customers satisfaction and pass any notes onto the appropriate person in the office.
  • Operational support such as, maintaining the showroom and office cleaning.
  • This role has the opportunity to grow within Operations, Inside & Outside Sales, Customer Service or a leadership role depending on where this employee is looking to expand their career.

Attributes that will help you succeed in this role:

  • Experience working in a customer facing environment and enjoy interacting with customers.
  • Be curious, ask questions and learn from our experienced team. We will teach you everything we know but you will need to ask questions when you’re not sure of the answer. Our goal is for you to be able to confidently support each customer.
  • Comfortable learning as you go. A successful colleague will take lots of notes, observe the team and be patient. We recognize this is a fast-paced environment and it will take a new colleague up to 6 months to comfortably learn this role and a year to be confident in their skills and knowledge.

Requirements to apply:

  • Able to work rotating Saturday schedule. We’re open from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday, and 9:00 am– 1:00 pm on Saturdays. This is a full-time position with the opportunity for overtime
  • Read a tape measure. We’re happy to give you a refresher course but you need to know the basics (your 4th grade teacher wasn’t joking when she said this is a life-long skill!). This is to help walk-in customers place orders.

  • At a computer for 85% of your work day, primarily sedentary job (stand or sitting options for your work space).
  • Will need to bend, twist, squat and lift with up to 30 lbs independently to help customers with dropping off and picking up product (at least once/day).
