Front Loader Operator

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Loader Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining assigned heavy equipment to include, but not limited to dozers, excavators, Front Loaders, and tractors. Ensure operational efficiency by keeping production processes sustained with material needed for shipments.

Current schedule: Monday - Friday: 10 hours per day, with occasional Saturdays

Busy Season: Monday - Friday: 12 hours per day, with regular Saturday hours

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Performs daily operational, inspections, cleaning, and fluid checks before, during, and after operation of the equipment; keeps equipment in good working condition. Reports any malfunctions to supervisor.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment used, may be required to make emergency and minor mechanical repairs.
• Operates machines to harvest, stack, spread, smooth or level soil materials
• Observes distribution of soil material to communicate adjustments needed for machine settings or material flow
• Efficiently loading bulk trucks as needed
• Supports the plant safety program though personal involvement in all aspects of Safety, including training, safety protective equipment and clothing, and adhering to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills.
• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to read, speak and write English.
• Strong work ethic.
• Equipment certification or willing to be certified.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of proper safety measures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma
• Heavy Equipment Operation experience
• Work experience in an industrial plant environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Typical plant work environment, noise level is moderate to loud. Must be able to navigate plant site including climbing stairs, reaching for product, traveling over changing terrain.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Sitting for prolonged periods of time
• Lifting requirements generally under 50 lbs.
