Position Summary
Cashiers are the “face” of the Co-op in their daily interactions with customers and are responsible for creating a positive customer experience for our shoppers. They are in charge of accurately ringing up customer purchases, providing excellent customer service, and informing customers about various programs offered.
Skills we are looking for:
- Engage people in a friendly and approachable manner
- Provide top notch customer service
- Operate a POS system and cash register, with previous cash handling experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Multitask and prioritize responsibilities under pressure
- Assess situations and take initiative as needed
- Able to lift 50lbs, stand for long periods of time, continuous bending, reaching, and twisting, and comfortable doing work that is repetitive
