JOB DESCRIPTION
TIME/STATUS: FULL-TIME – 4 days/wk 8am - 5pm
POSITION: FRONT DESK / REGISTRATION SPECIALIST
REPORTS TO: OFFICE MANAGER & MD
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Greet patients in a friendly and helpful manner.
- Performs day to day administrative tasks and general office duties to ensure smooth office operations and patient flow.
- Schedules patient appointments on predetermined basis in accordance with office guidelines.
- Screens patients for patient information, including address, phone and insurance data.
- Adheres to office policies including, safety, security, HIPAA.
- Maintains patient waiting areas, office files and front desk in an organized manner.
- Collects co-pays when appropriate; collects existing balances from prior services.
- Registers new patients in EHR and updates patient demographics on existing patients.
- Practices confidentiality and privacy.
- Dresses per company guidelines.
- Takes direction from physician and office manager.
- Other duties as may be required, including assisting other staff as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality of office matters and patient confidentiality
- Meets HIPAA standards
- Exhibit good customer service with patients, colleagues and referring physicians
- Have excellent phone skills; well-developed verbal skills
- Knows medical terminology
- Experience with computers, scanning, filing, and accounts receivable
- Knowledge of medical insurance, medicare, and Medicaid
- Able to multi-task and work with interruptions
- Reliable with follow-up processes
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Prior administrative experience in medical office setting required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week
