The Front Desk / Medical Assistant will perform all duties associated with efficiently registering patients requiring services at Pause Pain and Wellness, LLC.
Duties
- Greet patients with utmost kindness and respect
- Gathering of correct information to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
- Check the patient’s paperwork for accuracy and completion
- Knowledgeable regarding registration process
- Check-In/Register Patients for Clinic Office Visits and Procedures
- Medical Assistants will be trained so that they may become proficient and maintain the standardized benchmarks for the department by alerting the Supervisor as supplies are needed
- Request cash co-payments, cash deposits, and cash payments from each patient
- Accountable for providing accurate receipts for payment transactions
- Files any necessary department paperwork according to department guidelines
- Assembles patient medical records prior to the provider receiving the record.
- Gather data relevant to the patient's individual needs.
- Obtains and records the following:
- Vital Signs
- Draw Labs
- Medication Profile
- Allergies
- Chief Complaint
- Complete a drug screen and/or pregnancy test.
- Prepares patients prior to provider examination.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, cancel appointments, reschedule appointments, and/or procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent is required
- Medical Assistant Certification is preferred.
- At least 6 Months of Experience in drawing labs.
- Excellent Customer Service
- Must have basic clerical skills, typing, filing, ability to communicate with the public, doctors, nurses and patients
- Ability to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations
- Must be able to handle confidential situations with tact
- Ability to work with computers, electronic devices, telephones, fax machines
Must possess the ability to do multiple tasks simultaneously
Lifting Requirements
- Sedentary- Generally lifting not more than 10 lbs. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as ledgers, files and small items.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
