Sea Dwellers Dive Center of Key Largo is looking for outgoing, professional Front Desk Associate. In this customer service position you would be responsible many of our day to day duties in our dive center... Including but not limited to: taking accurate customer reservations and checking for accuracy, politely and energetically answering customer inquires via email and telephone, handling customer check-ins (taking payments, checking for boat waivers, assisting with diver gear and questions and updating the boat manifests), identifying needs and upselling courses or items for customers, basic store cleaning, filling scuba tanks, and general scuba gear maintenance and cleaning.

The ideal candidate would have excellent customer service, computer, organizational and communication skills. Additionally, they must be self-motivated and able to self-manage multiple responsibilities. Key Largo is a high paced environment, and our associate is often the first and last person our customers speaks to, so this is a vital role in our organization.

***Initial training pay for first 30 days is $16 an hour. At 30 days, pay increases to $17 - $18 based on performance. At 6 months another review is conducted and pay range increases to $18 - $20 based on performance.

Basic Prerequisites:

  • MUST BE AT LEAST AN OPEN WATER CERTIFIED DIVER.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills. Multitasking and organization is key. Front Desk Associates are responsible for handling bookings, reservations, phone calls and email inquires.
  • Responsible for legal items such as checking boat waivers, diver certifications and student paperwork, boat manifests, and maintaining schedule for student ratios.
  • Great English grammar/punctuation/communication skills a must!
  • Key Candidate Qualities: High Energy, Outgoing Personality, Clerical, and Customer Centric.
  • As the first face and often the last face customers see, associates must enjoy working with people and helping divers/snorkelers have a fun and exciting experience.
  • Customer service and sales (upselling) focused. To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate must be able to asses customer's needs and inquires and offer products and services accordingly.

Job Summary:

Sea Dwellers Front Desk Associates provide customer support daily via the phones, emails, and online. Customer service is at the core of what they do... energetically greeting and checking customers in every day. Problem solving and scheduling are also important tasks our Office Staff regularly undertake. They also assist with fitting gear for trips, updating boat manifests, daily shop upkeep and filling/moving scuba tanks on and off a trailer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide customer service over the phone or through email communications. Includes booking diving/snorkeling & hotel reservations by phone/email and accurate updates in system accordingly.

2. Assist with daily check-in procedures, ensuring accuracy and completion of any and all required documents for instruction and charters.

3. Ability to lift and load SCUBA tanks and be able to lift 35+ pounds multiple times daily.

4. Update manifest for instruction and be in communication with instructors and crew who are scheduled.

5. Helping customers with correct fitting of dive and snorkel gear

6. All other duties assigned.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office products, specifically word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. Additionally, candidates should be proficient in answering customer inquires via phone and email and follow specific instructions regarding bookkeeping processes.

Customer Service Expectations (Summary):

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to orally communicate clearly and persuasively in both a large formal environment and one-on-one. Sea Dwellers operates in a high paced environment with a wide range of customer demographics, therefore the ability to manage difficult or emotional situations and personal emotions is a must.

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
