The Hudson Yards Experiences team is seeking a talented and versatile Freelance Graphic Designer to join our dynamic team on a project basis. The ideal candidate will support our in-house marketing and communications efforts by handling a variety of design tasks. These tasks include but are not limited to creating engaging signage, updating email templates and website visuals, light copywriting, and fulfilling other miscellaneous design requests. This role is perfect for a creative individual who is interested in remote work as an on-call freelancer.
- Design and produce a range of materials including digital and print signage, promotional materials, email marketing from templates, and website content.
- Work closely with the various inhouse team to understand project requirements and deliver creative solutions that align with our brand's identity and objectives.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
- Provide creative input and suggestions to enhance visual communication of messaging through design.
- As needed, light copywriting to support promotional messages and events.
- Maintain organized archives of all design files.
- Proven graphic design experience with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of digital and print design.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Dreamweaver and familiarity with email and web design principles
- Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction and user experience.
- Basic copywriting skills
- Experience working with Travel, Entertainment, Tourism industries is a plus.
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
- Experience with CMS is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a remote team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field is preferred but not required.
- Must be based in New York or willing to work in Eastern Time Zone hours for collaboration purposes.
Working Conditions:
- This is a freelance position with flexible hours, allowing for remote work.
- Projects will be assigned on an as-needed basis, with the possibility of varying workloads from week to week.
- Communication and project management will be conducted online, requiring reliable internet access and responsiveness during agreed-upon hours.
- Estimated number of hours per week 10-20.
Compensation:
- $45-55/Hr
