Aircraft Mechanic II
Contractor personnel shall perform a full range of aircraft SHEET METAL duties including, but not limited to, disassemble, modify, repair, and reassemble complex aircraft metal items and systems, e.g., bulkheads, airframes, spars, air scoops, wings, flaps, pylons, sponsons, fuselages, skins, ribs, gussets and fuel tanks. These items and systems have combined straight and curved edges and irregular curves and planes. Contractor personnel shall analyze and evaluate structural damage to metal systems and items; develop patterns using a combination of parallel and radial line development; fabricate, install, and repair a variety of items and systems made from a wide variety of metals, e.g., stainless steel, copper sheet, magnesium, honeycomb, alloys, aluminum; replace sections and patch old systems; cut, bend, shape, and form metals for items that have numerous irregular angles, planes, and curves with varying pitch and circumference; use a variety of assembly joints, complex fastening systems, riveted or welded joints, drill or punch holes; and assemble or repair items by seaming, soldering, bolting, screwing, riveting, tacking, and spot welding. Assembly methods shall meet appearance and strength standards, as well as critical tolerances. As a condition of employment Contractor personnel will be required to pass a FRCSW administered certification skills examination.
Contractor personnel shall use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, protractors, snap ring, height, depth, dial and screw pitch gauges, squares, rulers, trammel points, and sine bars. Contractor personnel will also be required to use oxyacetylene cutting torches and electric arc welding machines.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a minimum of 5 years in aircraft SHEET METAL mechanic experience.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Must be able to speak, read and write and understand English.
Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and / or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned task.
Must past pre employment background check.
Must past pre-employment and post-employment drug testing.
Must be able to attain and maintain a Defense Biometric Identification System Card (DBIDS).
Must be able to attain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
Active Secret Clearance.
Minimum of 4 years of current, relevant aircraft SHEET METAL mechanic experience.
Prior experience in Naval Aviation Depot level maintenance.
Prior Experience in Naval Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Airframes and Structural repair.
