JOB TITLE: Franchise Business Consultant                    

REPORTS TO: Vice President Brand & Franchise Development    CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Restaurant Operations                                               LEVEL: Management

 

SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

The Franchise Business Consultant will maintain effective working relationships and visitation schedule with franchisees.  This manager is the primary liaison between franchisees and the corporate support center. Understand all facets of the business in order to identify opportunities of improvement for growth.  Identify and share with other franchisees the successes and problem-solving techniques the Operations Department and/or other franchisees have developed.  Ensure the franchisees are in compliance with their franchise agreement and the Standard Operating Procedures Manual.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Maintain a clear understanding of the current Franchise Agreements.

· Remain updated and ensure current knowledge of the SOP Manual.

· Maintain a complete understanding of all operational procedures and standards.

· Assist franchisees with the creation of an operations budget (training franchisees how to make projections in sales and expenses).

· Monitor Operations Scorecard performance.

· Prepare and present quarterly P&L reviews for your respective area.

· Conduct bi-monthly franchise group calls.

· Conduct quarterly franchise group meetings.

· Conduct quarterly business reviews with multi-unit franchisees at minimum.

· Participate in monthly operations team meetings.

· Ensure all necessary Farmburgerology modules are completed as needed.

· Validate that potential managers are prepared for certification.

· Ensure that all active managers have gone through the certification process and have passed the final exam.

· Deliver and distribute information to franchisees and collect Farmer Boys restaurant data.

· Inform superiors, peers, and subordinates of all changes, opportunities, and other relevant information regarding the operation of     each franchise unit.

· Communicate sales promotions and best practices to the Franchise community.

· Maintain proper and complete Franchisee files with all necessary documentation.

· Have a positive working relationship all franchisees, their managers and employees, FB partners and vendors.

· Must be detail oriented and disciplined to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

· This an operations department job, primarily office and franchisee and/or restaurant manager contact

· Understand and achieve company vision, mission, and goals

· Focused on continuous improvement and the pursuit of excellence

· Excellent written, verbal and group presentation and communication skills 

· Effective listener, persuasive, diplomatic, and self-motivated 

· Must be able to effectively work with every level of the restaurant team

· Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and meet structed timeless

· Physical requirements include standing, sitting, and walking (up to 8 hours at a time); bending, and stooping

· Physical requirements include lifting (up to 15 pounds) while lifting or moving file boxes

· Must be able to withstand intermittent kitchen heat and/or cold while testing food temperatures. Approximately 50% of the time is   spent in a standing or walking mode, and approximately 50% is spent in a sitting mode.

· Ability to periodically climb a ladder and verify completion of maintenance on the roof

· This is an operations department job, primarily office and franchisee and/or restaurant manager contact.

· Physical requirements include standing, sitting and walking (up to 8 hours at time); bending and stooping.

· Physical requirements include lifting (up to 20 pounds) while lifting or moving file boxes. 

· Must be able to withstand intermittent kitchen heat and/or cold while testing food temperatures.  Approximately ­­­60% of time is spent in a standing or walking mode, approximate 40% is spent in a sitting mode.

· Ability to periodically climb ladder and verify completion of maintenance on roof.

· Ability to travel up to 15-20% outside of LA/OC/Riverside area.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

· High School Graduate, 2-year and/or 4-year college degree preferred.

· 3-5 years as a company and/or Franchise Manager in food or retail, preferably in restaurant, or a combination thereof.
