FRACTIONAL ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE CONSULTANT(REMOTE)

THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is a Private Equity backed entertainment/talent management company with offices in LA and New York. We are seeking a remote, fractional Finance and Accounting Consultant to help transition our Client’s books and reporting packages into their future state according to PE sponsor guidelines.
This will be a 4+ month remote engagement working roughly 20 to 30 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be located in either LA or NY for occasional office visits.
ACCOUNTING MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Reporting Package – Create and maintain the monthly financial reporting package. Components to be included;
- Monthly consolidated financial statements (P&L & BS)
- Monthly entity level financial statements (P&L & BS)
- EBITDA add backs / adjustments (perhaps personal expenses, owner’s comp, marketing/gifts, depreciation, interest expense, unusual items, etc.)
- Net revenue by client
- Net revenue by revenue type (film, TV, endorse, etc.)
- Net revenue by Manager
- Cash analysis – Tracking the primary portion of the transaction proceeds vs. operating cash flow
- Cash distribution analysis – Tracking what may be distributed / held back each quarter (we do have a tax provider, so this is likely working with them)
- Accounting oversight – Work with the external bookkeeper to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly (cash basis accounting).
- Cash management – Create and maintain a collections analysis that can be used to actively manage AR (currently done by the founders at a high-level). Similar exercise on the AP / expense side.
- Cash reconciliations – Review / improve external bookkeeping firm’s cash reconciliation process ensuring monthly cash reconciliations are performed timely and accurately.
- Process improvement recommendations – Review the company’s current accounting policies and procedures and develop / recommend process improvements.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of Accounting and Finance experience.
- Experience with small cap company preferred.
- Entertainment, media, or production experience required.
- Private Equity experience preferred.
- Datafaction software experience preferred.
- Prior Controllership, budgeting and forecasting, and process improvement experience required.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: From $80.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
