Job Title: FPGA Electrical Engineer
Location: Orlando FL (Onsite)
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Generate and document world class, innovative designs. This includes
implementation of nonlinear and linear filter algorithms in VHDL, as well as
interface definition and implementation to peripherals over standard board level
protocols (SPI, I2C, UART).
Design write and run simulation test benches to prove out and debug VHDL designs.
Implement and run such designs on real hardware to prove our basic verification
using standard lab equipment.
Provide technical leadership in problem solving and hardware integration activities.
Help define electrical architecture for current and advanced development projects.
Define test criteria and assist with the creation of test plans.
Document work through written and verbal status reports
We are looking for:
The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills education and
experience:
5+ years of strong, technical experience
BS in engineering required, MS in engineering is preferred.
Design experience with FPGAs in VHDL and be fully competent with simulation,
synthesis, debug and integration tools for test on hardware (Polarfire, Libero and
Synopsis toolset experience a plus).
Experience with specifying and meeting FPGA timing closure and constraints.
Working knowledge of GIT.
Ability to implement complex mathematical functions and fixedpoint math using
resource efficient VHDL coding styles and FGPA specific IP cores.
Scripting languages such as Python desirable
Must be able to work closely with board design engineers to ensure functional,
electrical and physical design constraints are clearly communicated and mutually
agreeable upon.
Working knowledge of hardware technology, including High speed digital,
memory and mixed signal.
Experience translating system and customer requirements into subsystem
requirements.
Proven ability with board bring up and troubleshooting activities
Proven ability to document engineering analysis and design decisions.
Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), DfX and FMEAs is preferred.
Position requires a high degree of selfmotivation, selfdirected and the ability to
work with little direct supervision.
Technical and conversational English speaking and writing required.
Possess strong problemsolving skills and teamoriented approach.
Medical device experience is a plus.
