Job Purpose:
The role is to provide Manufacturing Engineering support within the Foundry value stream. The role requires technical ownership to be taken for process steps and contributing towards key business drivers such as HSE, Quality, Supply and Cost.
The role will also require a focus on process stability which will involve managing BOM's Routers (Process documentation) CAPEX and Maintenance projects. As process owner the role will involve collaborating with various functional groups and Stakeholders & delivering projects in the value stream
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, document, and maintain foundry processes and procedures to ensure the production of high-quality castings.
- Work with engineering to analyze casting designs and specifications the best methods for production.
- Capture & document existing processes, Develop detailed routing steps within the ERP System - JD Edwards.
- Conduct research and development on new casting materials, methods, and technologies.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as design, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless operations.
- Train and mentor foundry personnel on new processes, procedures, and technologies.
- Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Provide technical support for issues related to casting production.
- Manufacturing support: Review of existing processes, implementation of new procedures & tooling.
- Continuous improvement: use industry best practices to support or lead continuous improvement activities.
- Track improvement gains and measure cost saving achieved through Process Improvement initiatives.
- Support Health & Safety on the production/manufacturing area and ensure requirement are meeting NOV & PFT standards.
- Introduce lean principles and continuous improvement (CI) methods.
- Identify opportunities for improving procedures, practices, and processes to achieve optimum levels of efficiency.
- Create sustainable business process improvement that provides measurable positive financial impact.
- Utilize problem solving abilities and root cause analyses, and consequently adjustment of procedures and processes to improve quality & cost.
- Create, present and rollout changes to processes across the manufacturing site in a controlled manner applying project management methodologies.
- Support engineering with design for manufacturing review activities.
- BOM & Router creation - conduct time study of new & existing process.
- Additional duties as required by plant management.
- Pattern inventory management and maintenance
- Plus, for skills in robotics for manufacturing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in foundry methods engineering
- Strong knowledge of foundry processes and equipment
- Experience in developing and implementing process improvements
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the foundry industry
- History of working with cross functional teams
