About this Role
Were looking for an exceptional full-stack engineer to join us as a founding team member. We're hiring2 engineers, ideally both full-stack, with 1 leaning front-end with product-minded, another one leaning back-end. Both are senior roles or above, looking for people who are hungry and have a strong drive.
Our client is changing the way accountants and financial analysts work by building AI-native workflows. Were developing cutting-edge AI technology that simplifies bookkeeping, financial reporting, and decision-making, providing finance teams and companies with the insights they need to succeed.
The founding full-stack software engineer is multifaceted; you will be instrumental in shaping both the technical and culture foundations of our company. Youll need to feel comfortable going outside your comfort zone and enjoy wearing many different hats. Strong experience building web applications is essential; if you've built them from scratch, that's even better.
Lastly, we want you to join us in San Francisco. We believe building in-person is a 10x multiplier for the company and we hope youll join us here. Our HQ is the Financial District in San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop software solutions that leverages AI technology (LLM) to reimagine traditional bookkeeping and finance processes.
- Collaborate with fellow founding team members to define our vision, strategy, and product roadmap.
- Build and manage the technical infrastructure required to support our services, including databases, servers, and APIs.
- Ensure the security, privacy, and compliance of our technology and data.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and finance to continually improve our product offerings.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, data scientists, and developers as the startup grows.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer service teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and drive user adoption.
Candidate Requirements
- 5+ yearsof experience building web applications using javascript/typescript and frameworks such as Express.js/Next.js
- Experience in working with event-driven applications and async I/Os
- 3+ years experience in working with relational databases such as MySQL or Postgres
- Track record of deploying clean code and clean architecture (Github profile or portfolio links please!)
- Passion for and experience in developing and improving customer-facing products
Nice to Haves
- Previously worked in a startup with less than 50 engineers
- Strongly preferred: experience in building LLM applications using OpenAI API and vector databases
- Previous founder / Founding Engineer experience
