Foster Care Case Manager

Chambliss Center for Children is seeking a dedicated individual to provide case management services for children (newborn- 18 years old) in state custody and their families. Caseloads are kept minimal (approximately 10 children) to ensure that quality services are provided. Visits are conducted throughout this region of the state and will involve transporting children and youth.

Schedule: This position is full-time, 40 hours per week with on-call responsibility on weekdays. Weekend on-call is rotated between all staff members. Hours a flexible but may require some evening hours.

Pay: Starts at $40,000 and increases depending on experience.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a closely related field.
• At least one year experience working with children.
• Must maintain a valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to clear a background/fingerprint check.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Adaptability, flexibility, and creative problem solving skills.
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Duties Include (But Not Limited To):

• Responds to and supports the needs of the foster families.
• Provides case management services in coordination with agency team members and the DCS.
• Coordinates transportation needs of children and their families.
• Assists in crisis intervention services as necessary.
• Explores family resources as they relate to placement potential, looks to remove barrier interfering with home placement, and advocates for the needs of the family.
• Provides services or arranges for services (contract or otherwise) that are aimed at reducing risks in the family home and facilitating the child's return to the home.
• Coordinates visitation between children in the agency's care, their parents and siblings as feasible and with approval by DCS.
• Ensures that all record keeping is maintained, is current in its completion, and is timely in its becoming a part of the child's file.
• Participates in all scheduled meetings regarding services for assigned children.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
